Why we had to change the privacy settings on our blog....

Hi friends and family,

Our apologies for having to tighten down our blog page access.

Lori has been working at a Mental Hospital for the past several months. Unfortunately, she works with a population of patients who have nothing but time on their hands, and access to computers, internet and cell phones. Also unfortunately, these group of people are Criminally insane. Meaning, they have a mental illness and they committed a crime (varying from theft to murder, and anything in between). So instead of prison, they are committed to the Oregon State Mental Hospital.

Lori must wear a name tag that shows both first and last name. In order to protect our internet sites, we have closed them down to invitation only access.

We will continue to update our blog, as we enjoy sharing our life activities with you, and hope this blog inspires you to also create a blog, if you haven't already.

Today we celebrated our wedding anniversary along with our friends Randy and Lynn Tucker, and their children and grandchildren.

It so happens that our friend, Lynn, has her birthday on our anniversary. Today we met at a bowling alley in Vancouver, WA to celebrate along with their grandson, Channing, for his 2nd birthday.

We ate dinner at Joe's Crab House in Vancouver. Matt said it was good, but not enough crab (compared to the Spirit Mountain All-You-Can-Eat Buffet).

Navy Bound?

Our youngest daughter, Abi, is in the process of committing to the Navy.

She will graduate from high school in June.

Grandpa Nichols was in the Navy. A family friend, Joe, was in the Navy. She looked at different options of military service over the past year, and settled on Navy during Christmas break.

She has already taken her written test, which she apparently did very well, and based on availability of the positions, she is eligible for any position the Navy offers at this point. This next week is her physical, which may or may not narrow down her choices of jobs--as she is a mere 100 lbs, and still has to gain about 4 pounds more.

Nicole and her musical talents...

She prides herself in holding the instrument properly. She first learned to play the clarinet, which she played in junior high, high school, and two years in college. This year, for the Oregon Marching band, she expanded into the brass instruments by playing the Euphonium.

Her musical talents have provided opportunities of travel and performances, such as New York, California, New Mexico, and Washington. Including visiting the Statue of Liberty, Broadway performance of Phantom of the Opera, Sea World, and Disneyland.

Matt bought her a flute at a good price--adding to her ensemble. She is creative, talented, and focused when it comes to her music.
